- Seattle’s major prepares students for a diverse range of careers, including in journalism, politics, environment, public relations, non-profits, health, human resources, the law, politics, media, sports, academia, and entrepreneurship. Using active learning methods, courses are designed to teach students about the role of communication in society and provide them with experience in developing their oral, written, visual, and digital communication skills. Internships are a key part of your education, with opportunities at PR agencies, news outlets, arts organizations, political, legal, and social justice advocacy organizations, non-profits, and other organizations across Seattle.
- Students must choose a specialization, but the flexibility built into the curriculum allows them also double- or triple-specialize, and their educational plan accommodates it.

Academic Eligibility:
- Undergraduate applicants should have the equivalent of a U.S. grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Provide official, certified English language translations of all transcripts from each educational institution attended.
- Official external mark sheets should be submitted as part of the evaluation process in the educational system attended. Transcripts must have the official seal or stamp from the issuing institution.
- Students who have completed the Ordinary and/or Advanced Levels, or the International Baccalaureate must have the results sent directly from the testing agency.
- Applicants whose native language is other than English must demonstrate English proficiency regardless of the length of residency in the U.S., their citizenship, or their immigration status.
- Seattle University does not require the ACT or SAT of international freshman applicants. However, these scores do enhance an application, and sufficiently high critical reading and writing scores will be accepted in lieu of the TOEFL to demonstrate English proficiency.
