Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Theatre and Performance Studies
- Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, the Department of Theatre & Performance Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre & Performance Studies with concentrations in Acting, Performance Studies, Design/Technology, and Musical Theatre. Kennesaw’s mission is to cultivate scholar-artists with an array of transferable skills who will pursue graduate studies, careers in professional theatre, and/or employment in related fields after graduation.
- In this program, students will learn from an exceptional faculty who are professional artists and published scholars. Kennesaw’s small classes provide individualized instruction and combine the breadth of a liberal arts education with the depth of professional training in the disciplines of theatre and performance studies. Kennesaw’s innovative production season includes classic and experimental material ranging from published plays to adaptations of literature, storytelling, performance art, performance ethnography, comedy improv, musical theatre, and spectacle performances. Every student enjoys multiple opportunities to perform, design, direct, and/or write material, depending upon his/her passion.
- Other signature elements of the program include education abroad programs, global performance tours, internships with professional theatre and performance organizations, and the development of world premieres alongside faculty and professional theatre partners.

Academic Eligibility:
- A high school GPA requirement of 3.0 or higher is required for first-year freshmen applying to be theatre and performance studies majors.
- A college GPA requirement of 3.0 or higher is required for entering transfers and currently enrolled KSU students seeking a change in major.
- Auditions are not required for acceptance into the program.
- The Department holds auditions each semester for theatre and musical theatre productions, the KSU TELLERS storytelling ensemble, the Kennesaw Improv Society (K.I.S.S.), and Music Theatre Ensemble.
- International students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
