  • Carleton’s MSc in Earth Sciences falls under an umbrella organization called The Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Centre. This joint initiative between Carleton University and the University of Ottawa offers students the unique opportunity to take courses at both universities while benefiting from the expertise of a larger pool of professors.
  • The center houses modern instrumental facilities, and research activity includes most areas of the earth sciences. Graduate students are enrolled in the university where their faculty supervisor holds an appointment.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must have a 4-year bachelor’s degree in a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A GPA of at least 3.0/4.33 (B grade) which is the equivalent of 8.0/12 on Carleton’s scale is required to be eligible for the program.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

  • Completed of both a Bachelor’s (3 years) degree and a Master’s degree.
  • Or, completed a Bachelor’s degree requiring 4 years of study (e.g., B.Pharm., M.B.B.S, or B.Arch).
  • Or, obtain a first-class division (75% or above, Distinction or Outstanding).
  • Or, complete 3-year UG from an institution accredited by either AACSB, EQUIS or AMBA.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
