Bachelor of Science [B.S] Classics

  • The Department of Classics at Holy Cross is the largest and most active undergraduate program in the United States. Whatever your background or interests, you can design a major from our rich array of courses focused exclusively on undergraduates, and can take part in a unique set of co-curricular activities.
  • Students can study ancient history, politics, literature, mythology, rhetoric, art and archaeology, religion, and ancient science in courses requiring no knowledge of ancient languages.
  • Students can start at any level, as introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses are available every semester in both languages.
  • A classics major is an interdisciplinary education in the liberal arts. The experience students gain in reading texts closely, interpreting visual and material culture, and analyzing data develop valuable skills for any of the varied career paths they and their fellow majors successfully pursue.
