Diploma Opticianry
- In this program, students experience a unique blend of health care and business management. Through theory and practical experience in labs/clinics, students learn to competently dispense eyeglasses, contact lenses, and subnormal vision devices, and learn about basic refraction.
- Students gain a strong foundation of ocular sciences in optics and anatomy and are provided the expertise necessary to layout and edge lenses for frame insertion, as well as repair, customize and modify eyewear to the patient/client's needs. Emphasis is also placed on professional services.
- Through critical thinking, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial skills, students learn how to establish and operate a small business, how to use effective sales techniques, and enhance communication and interpersonal skills in order to be successful in the optical retail environment.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete secondary or high school transcripts with proof of graduation, subjects are taken and grades received.
- Or, students have to complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with
- Grade 12 English (C or U)
- Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U)
- Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school students may also be considered for admission.
- Students who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing also get admission to this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:
- All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
- Indian School Certificate (ISC)
- Intermediate Examination Certificate
- Pre-University Examination Certificate
- Diploma / Degree certificate Mark sheets for each year of study.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
