Master of Science [M.S] Dentistry - Dental materials
Graduate Dental Materials Program, student will focus on restoring and maintaining patients’ oral health through materials science as they work toward a Master of Science in Dentistry degree. During this two-year program, student’ll gain advanced knowledge of research and methodology for materials applications, including:
- Knowledge of the compositional and microstructural features of preventive and restorative dental materials
- Concepts of biocompatibility
- Definitions and applications of the mechanical and physical properties of dental biomaterials
- Principles of materials science as relate to dentistry
- Education for the proper manipulation and application of dental materials
- Analysis of material and structural defects relevant to clinical failure of dental restorations and prostheses
- Criteria for selecting materials for patient-centered clinical practice

To be eligible to apply for the M.S.D. program, you must:
- Hold a D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from an accredited U.S. or Canadian dental school or be a graduate of an international dental school with equivalent educational background and standing
- Have a cumulative dental school GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrate proficiency in the English language. If English is not your native language, you must earn a minimum score of 79 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) iBT or 6.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
