The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry provides:

• Undergraduate training in chemistry and biochemistry for students planning professional careers in chemistry and allied professions such as medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, health sciences and veterinary medicine and for those contemplating graduate work for advanced degrees;

• Appropriate courses for the teacher credential program;

• Fundamental chemical science courses required by students majoring in related fields such as biology, physics, health science, and geology;

• An understanding of the achievements and contributions of chemistry as a science.
