  • The Bachelor of science with a major in english/language arts education seeks to provide, upon graduation, highly effective practitioners prepared to teach English and language arts in a grade 5-12 setting. It also meets a national and regional need for highly qualified English and language arts teachers.
  • The Bachelor of science with a major in english/language arts education at Trine University includes courses in composition, literature, creative writing, reading, mythology and communication. You will spend over 800 hours in field experiences prior to graduation. The Franks School of Education program includes rigorous learning experiences guided by faculty in both the arts and sciences as well as in the school of education.

  • High school students need to take the American College Test (ACT) and/or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and request that scores be sent to Trine University. Our code numbers are 1250 for the ACT and 1811 for the SAT. NOTE: the writing section of the ACT and SAT are optional.
  • Upon graduation from high school, send your official final high school transcript that includes graduation date to admissions. You will also want to submit transcripts for dual credit or other college courses to be reviewed for credit. An applicant for freshman standing who achieves a score of 3, 4, or 5 on the College Entrance Examination Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) Examination may be granted credit.
