Bachelor of Science [B.S] Agricultural Technology Management & Education: Controlled Environment Agriculture
This program provides course work in the basic sciences, technical agriculture, teaching principles and techniques, and communication skills. Students may choose an option in agricultural technology management or teaching. The Controlled Environment Ag Option prepares students for careers related to greenhouse operation and management. An internship experience is expected to be completed. Students completing this path also get hands-on experience which includes welding, plasma cutting, woodworking, electrical wiring, equipment operation, plumbing, irrigation, concrete, surveying, and small gas engines.
The knowledge of science, technical agriculture, management strategies, and economics, as well as the hands-on technical experience with welding, plasma cutting, woodworking, electrical wiring, equipment operation, plumbing, irrigation, concrete, surveying, and small gas engines gained from a degree in Agricultural Technology Management in the Controlled Environmental Agriculture concentration provides a strong foundation for careers in the greenhouse agriculture industry. Graduates in Controlled Environment Agriculture are especially well-prepared to work in greenhouse operation and management, and could work for small or large-scale food producers, community gardens, or as landscaping plant and flower growers.
