Bachelor Architectural Studies

Drury?s liberal-arts tradition and the personalized education it fosters gives students broad preparation and superior critical-thinking and leadership skills. We emphasize one-to-one instruction from talented and connected professors, in classes and studios with low student-faculty ratios. We support student involvement in music performance, athletics, student government, and other extra-curricular activities. In addition, our curriculum is flexible enough to encourage minors and double-majors, and many students pursue these in diverse fields including fine arts, business, graphic design, and music.

Architects shape places and the lives of the people who use them, so they must be able to understand both how to put things together physically and how to communicate with clients and building users. Our students excel in both. Their exploration of materials and construction is supported by an advanced workshop with both traditional and digital fabrication capabilities, including laser cutting, CNC routing, and 3-D printing. Design-build experiences and community-based studios provide opportunities to develop design and communication skills by working with real clients and solving problems for real communities.
