- At Auburn University, the food science degree is offered within the Department of Poultry Science. After completing coursework in the basic sciences, Students will take specialized courses in food chemistry, food analysis, food engineering, food microbiology, processing, and product development. An internship or other approved practical experience is required for the food science major.
- Students may also participate in a variety of undergraduate research opportunities as a student in food science.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must graduate from a U.S. high school.
- Students must have their foreign transcripts evaluated by an independent credentials evaluator.
- Students are required to maintain at least a 3.0 overall GPA.
Language Requirments:
- Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores.
- Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
TOEFL, PTE, and IELTS scores are only considered official when they are sent to the Office of Admissions directly from the Educational Testing Service (ETS).
