Advanced Diploma Mechanical Engineering Technology

  • Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology at Georgian College is offered as a 3 years (6 semesters) program.
  • It is an on-campus, co-op program offered on a full-time basis.
  • Mechanical technology helps students to learn the skills to apply scientific and engineering principles to solve mechanical engineering related problems.
  • They also undertake the design and fabrication of mechanical apparatus and systems, including automation and control systems, manufacturing processes, and material handling.

    • 3 Co-op Work Terms
  • All co-operative education programs at Georgian contain mandatory work term experiences aligned with program learning outcomes. 
  • Students should hold, or obtain, a minimum Class G2 Ontario driver’s license to ensure the greatest opportunity for co-op work terms.
  • To graduate from this program, the passing weighted average for promotion through each semester, from year to year, and to graduate is 60%.
  • Additionally, a student must attain a minimum of 50% or a letter grade of P (Pass) or S (Satisfactory) in each course in each semester.
  • Students may find a range of occupations in many industrial sectors including automotive, aerospace, advanced automation, natural resources, and processing. 
  • The average salary goes up to 41,000 USD after completion of the program.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students have to complete the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent with
    • Grade 12 English (C or U)
    • Grade 12 Mathematics (C or U)
  • Mature students, non-secondary school applicants (19 years or older), and home school students may also be considered for admission.
  • Students who have taken equivalent courses, upgrading, completed their GED, and equivalency testing also get admission to this program.
  • Students who have taken courses from a recognized and accredited post-secondary institution and/or have relevant life/learning experience may also be considered for admission.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:

  • All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
  • Indian School Certificate (ISC)
  • Intermediate Examination Certificate
  • Pre-University Examination Certificate
  • Diploma / Degree certificate Mark sheets for each year of study.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
