Master of Education [M.Ed] Developmental Studies
- The course of study addresses research and theory that informs the acquisition, development, and use of language and literacy in home, school, and community settings.
- You may choose a concentration in either Language Education or Literacy Education; you may also plan a course of study that includes courses from both disciplines. In both concentrations, you will come to understand literacy and language use as socially-important practices. You will learn to create and critically examine learning contexts that are consistent with the linguistic and literacy demands of our increasingly multimodal world, and that will promote literacy and language as pathways to achieving socially just and equitable educational opportunities for all learners. You will learn alongside nationally-acclaimed faculty in Literacy, Language, Deaf Studies, TESOL, and Bilingual Education, as well as highly motivated and thoughtful peers.
