Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Journalism

Journalism is changing, but the need for talented storytellers is as strong now as it?s ever been. In the classroom you'll be challenged as you discover how to approach comfortable and uncomfortable topics, hone your skills in writing, and exploring new forms of media.

In our classes and labs, students receive solid training in journalistic reporting, writing, and?editing. They produce stories in?print,?video, and photography using the latest in storytelling platforms and social media to build personal portfolios that position them for competitive internships and jobs.

Nearly half of Bethel?s journalism majors also major in another interest area because journalism works well with almost any major and offers students many opportunities upon graduation. For example, a student majoring in pre-medicine and journalism can decide, at 22, whether to be a health reporter or go to med school. She would be positioned well for both.
