- All students start with the non-thesis option. Students interested in doing a thesis should talk with several faculty members and reach an agreement on a topic. Then, both the student and the faculty member should inform the Graduate Liasion and the Student Services coordinator of their decision. This should be done before the end of the second semester the student is enrolled.
