Bachelor of Science [B.S] Materials Science and Engineering

In this major students will study the chemical and physical nature of materials at the macro, micro, and nano scales. They will understand the relationships between structure, properties, and processing of engineering materials, with an emphasis on applications and materials design.

They will learn from highly regarded faculty who have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring and regularly take students on plant trips to see how materials science and engineering is applied in industry, commerce, and national laboratories. Academic Eligibility:

  • SAT/ACT Scores (with writing) [not needed if graduated from high school two or more years before the dates the classes start at SEBS or if the applicant have finished secondary school and have received at least 12 college credits with final grades by the admissions application due date.]
  • Completed application form
  • $70 nonrefundable application fee
  • Official high school transcript(s) with final grades for all coursework with a certified translation in English. In addition, students might be asked to provide translated syllabi or course descriptions for faculty evaluation once on campus.
  • If applicable, official college transcript(s) for all colleges previously attended with a certified translation in English.
