Bachelor of Science [B.S] Health Education (Grades 6-12)

Is it your professional calling to help students of all ages become wiser about healthy lifestyle choices? Answer that call by becoming a part of TROY’s health education program, and prepare yourself to lead your own primary and/or secondary school health classes.

TROY’s seasoned and skilled faculty members will help you become a firstrate educator and motivator. Whether it’s teaching elementary students about medicines and their uses or taking on the subject of body image with a high school health class, your degree from TROY will help prepare you to play an integral role in developing healthy habits and attitudes within your students’ lives. Our instructors understand that in order for you to inspire your students to live healthy lives, you’ll have to be informed, innovative and reflective. That’s why the program relies on in-class training and real-world experiences. Through your coursework, you’ll prepare to lead your own health education classes.

This TROY program sets itself apart from others across the nation by allowing students to double major in both health and physical education programs. By double majoring, you’ll only add an additional 18-hour semester to your workload while making yourself more marketable to schools. During your senior year, you will complete a semester-long teaching internship at a local school. This real-world experience will not only allow you to gain experience working with students and other professionals, but it will also give you an opportunity to make a strong first impression on potential employers and possible references.
