- The Chemistry program at Florida International University is organized into four alternative areas of concentration.
- Students may choose to follow the Standard BA-Chemistry Concentration or - in consultation with an advisor - choose a specific area of emphasis: the Biochemistry Concentration, the Environmental Chemistry Concentration, or the Forensic Chemistry Concentration.

- The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, working in conjunction with the International Forensic Research Institute (IFRI) has several valuable facilities available for research, teaching and development.
- These facilities include the Forensic DNA Profiling Facility , CESMEC: the Center for the Study of Matter at Extreme Conditions , TEAF: the Trace Evidence Analysis Facility, MSF: the Mass Spectrometry Facility, and the Toxicology Facility .
