Master of Arts [M.A] Art History
- The Lamar Dodd School of Art offers programs for the Doctor of Philosophy in art, Master of Fine Arts, and Master of Art in art history, all organized to develop the student’s creative independence and professional capability as a producing artist, designer, and scholar in a total environment of living art. In conjunction with the College of Education, the School of Art offers programs in art education leading to the Master of Art Education, Specialist in Education, and Doctor of Education degrees.
- The school’s philosophy particularly stresses that the above goals be met for the art educator who must attain professional standards in the graduate studio as well as in the classroom.
- The Georgia Museum of Art is a significant resource for the School of Art. It has a major collection of American paintings and over 5000 works on paper from all periods. The museum sponsors a full schedule of in-house and traveling exhibitions each year.
