Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Sociology
All Sociology majors take a core of common requirements in research methods and sociological theory as well as choosing from a diverse set of sociology electives in areas that may include Latino/a Sociology, Sociology of Religion, Border Studies and Immigration, Medical Sociology, and Health Disparities.
Sociology electives cover a broad range of topics and student interests intended to introduce students to the dynamics of social life. Courses may explore social institutions, cultural dynamics, and processes of social interaction. Of particular interest are courses that reflect or departmental areas of concentration in studies of social inequality, the Latino/a experience, health care inequalities, and the role of religion and culture in shaping human societies.
