Students who graduate from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Information Technology will meet the following student learning outcomes:

  • Students will become experienced building and implementing IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Students will become experienced with administering and maintaining IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Students will become experienced and knowledgeable with troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
  • Students will develop and understand the basic elements of Project Management including project initiation, project planning, risk assessment/management, scope control, estimating, status reporting, change control/management, communication, budgeting, leadership, stakeholder identification, negotiation.
  • Students will become experienced with security infrastructure policy, procedures, and practical implementation from a technical and cultural perspective.
  • Students will obtain a technical skill set appropriate for entry-level positions related to IT infrastructure including network administration, network management, network and end-user support, etc.
