Master of Arts [M.A] Film and Media Studies
- The program emphasizes the study of film and media history, theory, analysis, aesthetics, and criticism from a humanistic perspective, within the context of global media culture.
- Students are encouraged to incorporate intensive site-specific study as part of their dissertation research. Nineteen core faculty and thirteen affiliated faculty members span a wide range of areas and specializations. In addition, several major scholarly publication projects are based in the department.

Academic Eligibility:
- A student must show a strong aptitude for scholarly work and demonstrate intellectual maturity. Students who are admitted will be required to attain a basic level of competence in the discipline in conjunction with their specific program of study.
- Many of the students admitted to the program will have achieved such a base level of competence by having completed an undergraduate major in film and media studies or taken film and media studies courses while majoring in a closely related humanities, arts, or social science discipline (such as literature, dramatic arts, philosophy, history, or women’s studies) with an emphasis on critical thinking and writing.
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field from recognised institution
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
