Associate of Arts [A.A] Sociology

  • The Associate of Arts Degree in Sociology is a provincially recognized two-year academic credential program. Students are exposed to an overview of central topics in sociology, fundamental sociological theories and concepts, studies in Canadian society, and specialized subject areas in sociology.
  • The aims of this program are to provide students with an entry point into a Bachelor of Arts degree program, to create greater ease in transferring credits to other post-secondary institutions, to enrich students' intellectual lives, and prepare them with academic knowledge and skills applicable to various work contexts.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students have graduated high school (secondary school) OR completed 24+ credits of undergraduate-level credits with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Indian Student Eligibility:

Students must require one of the following:

  • Indian Senior School Certificate (ISC)
  • Intermediate Certificate
  • Higher School Certificate
  • Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or All India Senior School Certificate

Language Requirments:

  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL scores. 
  • Students are required to submit an SAT or ACT score to be considered for admission. 

International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
