In addition to preparing students for graduate education in audiology and speech-language pathology, a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders can lead to careers in a variety of other fields such as health care, education, science and public policy.

  • Courses fulfill certain academic and practicum requirements for clinical certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Students may select additional courses leading to New York State certification as a Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD). However, student teaching is required for certification and is offered only at the graduate level.
