Master of Science [M.S] Industrial Engineering
The Industrial Engineering program offered by New Jersey Institute of Technology provides advanced training in operations research, supply chain, and process modeling and analysis.
Individuals with a diversity of technical background have completed the MSIE degree. These individuals are attracted by the historically strong role played by IEs in modeling and analysis within traditional production and distribution settings, that now extend to healthcare, transportation, and a wide range of service industries.
IEs typically formulate mathematical and/or digital simulation models of these systems with the intention of improving system and economic performance. Unique and in contrast to other traditional disciplines in engineering IEs focus on information driven human decision making and a broad based systems perspective. IEs consider themselves to be virtually any setting where outcomes are influenced by key decisions.
