Doctor of Philosophy [Ph.D] Business Administration - Information Systems
- The discipline of information systems (IS) focuses on information together with information capturing, storage, processing, and analysis/interpretation in ways that support decision making. The IS field also deals with building information processing into organizational procedures and systems that enable processes as permanent, ongoing capabilities. The discipline emphasizes the importance of building systems solutions, preferably so that they can be continuously improved. At the same time, IS recognizes that in terms of many of the technical computing knowledge areas and skills, it relies on knowledge developed by other computing disciplines. In the Coles Ph.D. program, KSU focuses on four areas:
- Behavioral information systems such as IT training, Fintech, etc.
- Cybersecurity
- Healthcare informatics
- Business Analytics
- The goal of the KSU Ph.D. program focused on information systems is to provide a pathway towards success in academia. Students focus on becoming outstanding scholars who excel in research, teaching, and leadership positions at other academic institutions. The program is developed to provide significant flexibility while providing the necessary skills to peruse research for publishing in highly rated peer-reviewed journals. The department has highly active publishing faculty in the areas of IS training, healthcare, security, data analytics among other areas.

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants to the Ph.D. in Business Administration Program should have a master's degree, preferably in business or a related topic from an appropriately accredited institution; however, the graduate degrees in business should be from AACSB accredited business schools.
