Advanced Diploma Graphic Design
- Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design at George Brown College is offered as a 3 years (6 semesters) program.
- It is an online program offered on a full-time basis.
- This program provides a strong overall understanding of design while also allowing students to select a major in either Communication Design, which prepares them for a corporate design career, or Advertising Design, which prepares students for a career in an advertising agency.
- In addition, design electives allow students to gain skills in areas such as illustration, motion, interaction, web, book, and environmental design.
- The following courses (33 total courses) are required to graduate successfully:
- 25 Design required courses
- 6 Design elective courses
- 2 General Education elective courses
- In this program, students learn through working on real-life projects in state-of-the-art labs and through industry networking.
- The first 3rd semesters provide students with a strong foundation in the core subjects of design, typography, production, digital applications, drawing for design, and design culture.
- In the 4th semester, students choose a major while continuing to develop applied skills through intensive studio projects.
- In the final year, students become involved in a thesis or major project, which allows for the synthesis of skills.
- Students will also engage in professional practice classes that prepare them for the workplace.
- Students with an overall grade point average of 2.5 or higher by the end of Semester 4 and a B+ on the portfolio assignment (Semester 5) will be eligible for the field placement course (GRAF3017) in Semester 6.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students have completed an Ontario Secondary School diploma or equivalent degree.
- Students must complete Grade 12 English (C or U) with 60% or higher.
- Students also have to complete a Grade 11 Math (M or U) or Grade 12 (C or U) with 60% or higher.
Indian Student Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria
- Students must be graduated from senior secondary school.
- Students have a minimum overall of 60% in 10th and 12th Grade for all streams.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/PTE/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
