Master of Science [M.S] Pure Mathematics
Focus the research in areas such as:
- Algebra (Representation theory, Lie theory, Hopf algebras, and quantum groups)
- Analysis (Harmonic, Fourier and functional analysis; Operator algebras; Spectral geometry)
- Combinatorics
- Dynamical systems
- Number theory
- Probability theory
The program is intended for students who will pursue a PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field or those who wish to teach mathematics at the community college level. It can be completed in two years by taking two classes per quarter (with the option of summer quarter), or in one year (with the option of summer quarter) by taking three classes per quarter. Classes are offered in the evening on the Lincoln Park Campus.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students should have completed a bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent from a recognized university.
- Students require a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Language Requirments:
- Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
International students who currently or will hold a degree from an institution where English is the primary language of instruction, do not need to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score report.
