Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Psychology
Students who pursue a degree in psychology will gain an understanding of psychological theories, research methods in psychology, and the many ways psychology can be applied to understand and improve people’s lives.
Graduating with a major in psychology requires at least a 2.5 grade-point average in the major and no more than two grades lower than a C+ in those psychology courses taken at Rutgers and presented to satisfy the major. Students may petition the department to request an exception to these requirements if they feel it is warranted.
The goal of the undergraduate program in Psychology is to provide students with:
- knowledge of the fundamental concepts and theories of psychology.
- an understanding of the methods used to examine psychological processes.
- mastery of discipline specific skills in reading, writing and analysis.
- an educational experience that students perceive as challenging, enriching, and worthwhile.
