Bachelor of Arts [B.A]/Bachelor of Science [B.S] Physical Education (7-12)
If you’re ready to share your passion for physical education with junior high and high school students, choose the physical education 7-12 endorsement.
The Health, Human Performance, and Sport Department prepares students for careers in exercise science, physical education, sport management, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and other careers related to health and human performance. With our state-of-the-art human performance laboratory, you’ll have access to elaborate equipment designed for a variety of testing needs, including BMI and skinfold testing, and V02 max treadmills. Our facilities and equipment are used for lifestyle assessment classes, physiology labs, training practicum students, and conducting research. The lab also serves as an educational and testing facility to numerous visitors within the region.
As a student here, you’ll have opportunities to participate in a variety of community service projects, performing free blood pressure screenings, participating in the Wellness Program, and providing body testing for local high school athletes. You can also get a broad range of hands-on sport management experiences, including working with the Wayne State athletic department and organizing promotional events.
