Bachelor of Science [B.S] Biochemistry
As a Biochemistry major, you will take classes to help you develop a practical understanding of concepts and theories across the spectrums of chemistry and biology. These include classes on analytical, organic, and physical chemistry, as well as cell, molecular, genetic, and microbiology. Class labs and research projects will give you hands-on experiences with protein purification, enzyme kinetics, chromatography, polymerase chain reactions, and many other biochemical phenomena.
Biochemistry majors can research alongside Taylor faculty members in the Faculty Mentored Undergraduate Scholarship program while earning academic credit, gaining cutting-edge research experience, and sometimes getting paid for it. This program and similar research grant programs occur during both the summer and academic year.
