Certificate Civil Technician
Students will learn the basics of civil engineering technology in this certificate program. They will be a part of designing the future: bridges, highways, dams, parks, sewer systems—just a few of the systems that affect our lives. Students will develop skills in computer-aided design (CAD), land and construction surveying, drafting fundamentals, and basic design concepts for residential construction.
Through lab work and projects, students will be able to design infrastructure projects for the cities and towns they live in. Whether students want to invent a new solution or research existing solutions for longstanding problems, students will find that their practical experience can make life better where they live.
If a student is a natural problem solver and passionate about finding hands-on solutions, this is the program for them. Small class sizes, dedicated instructors, and industry connections prepares them for an exciting career as a civil technician.

Academic Eligibility:
- A complete Manitoba Grade 12 or equivalent is needed.
- English 40G/the 40S or equivalent is needed.
- Pre-Calculus or Applied Mathematics 40S or equivalent with a minimum mark of 65%.
Indian Eligibility:
Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet the following eligibility criteria:
- English is the language of instruction at Assiniboine. All applicants educated outside of Canada or in a country, not on the test exempt list are expected to meet the English language proficiency requirement.
International students hailing from non-English speaking countries can prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
