Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Sociology
Students will gain a broad understanding of sociology by completing dynamic courses across a range of topics. Students may choose to focus their studies on a variety of concentrations including deviance and social control; community and societal studies; business, corporations, and other organizations; sociology and gender; medical and health services, social change and development.
Sociology uses a range of research and statistical techniques for studying social phenomena which can be applied to many areas, including the incidence of crime, client satisfaction, policy evaluations or demographic trends. In addition to preparing people as professional sociologists in academic settings, undergraduate study is an excellent background for careers in government and law, criminal justice, market research, business, community services, public health, urban planning, and public administration.
