  • The Department of Physics at Queen's is one of Canada's leading teaching and research institutes in Physics, Engineering Physics and Astronomy. Queen's is home to the Canadian Particle Astrophysics Research Centre (CPARC) with its world-leading research activities and a suite of experiments located at SNOLAB.
  • The Physics Department also created the first Engineering Physics program in Canada. World-leading researchers in quantum optics, nanoscience and nanophotonics merge our strength in applied physics with fundamental research in condensed matter physics and optics.
  • Physics at Queen's combines high calibre research with an intermediate-scale learning setting enabling attention and care towards undergraduate teaching as well as exposure to a broad range of topics and expertise.

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) degree.
  •  Students must have to complete the following course such as:
    • English (ENG4U)
    • And three additional 4U or M courses
    • A minimum math average of 75% and no math grade below 65%
  • To gain admission to this program, a student’s academic average should be in the low-to-mid 80s.

Indian Student Eligibility

Indian students are eligible to apply if they have any one of the following certificates:

  • All-India Senior School Certificate (AISSCE)
  • Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)
  • Indian School Certificate (ISC)
  • Intermediate Examination Certificate
  • Pre-University Examination Certificate
  • Students must have a Grade XII chemistry or Grade XII physics.
  • Students also hold Grade XII math (Minimum math result of 55%).

English Language proficiency:

  • Applicants from India, China, Vietnam, Philippines, and Pakistan should note that IELTS is the only proficiency score accepted by the Study Direct Stream (SDS) program.
  • Meeting the minimum English requirements does not guarantee admission. Students with higher English proficiency scores will receive priority in the admission assessment process.
  • Not all students will qualify for EAP-3106 in place of the required IELTS or TOEFL test scores.

Submission of GRE scores is not compulsory for this program, however, it is recommended to submit a minimum 300+ score for a better chance of admission.
