Bachelor of Arts [B.A] Art History
A strong history base will enrich any career in the arts, but it serves as a foundation for careers in studio art, teaching, arts administration, museums, galleries, historic preservation, art libraries, publishing, art conservation, and art collecting.
The art history area provides support to the studio art specialties, visual communication, and education programs in the department as well as a University Core Curriculum course for all undergraduate students on campus.
Art history has an interdisciplinary reach that encompasses literature, history, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, and cultural studies. It emphasizes visual as well as verbal and written literacy, providing many advantages to a liberal arts education.
