Young African Leaders Initiative (Yali)

The flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) that brings young leaders to the United States for academic coursework and leadership training, creating unique opportunities for collaboration between Fellows and U.S. citizens as they spur economic growth and prosperity, strengthen democratic governance, and enhance peace and security across Africa and the United States. In the summer of 2022, the fellowship will bring up to 700 young leaders to the U.S for a comprehensive executive-style program that is designed to empower fellows and help them build skills to lead their respective sectors and communities. The fellowship includes a six-week leadership training at various leading educational institutions across the US, a summit in Washington, D.C, an optional four-week professional development experience, and activities in Africa.

Dollar Range: If you are selected for the Fellowship, the U.S. Government will cover all program costs including visa, travel, a limited accident and sickness benefit plan, and housing and meals.
