IIE Scholar Rescue Fund For Threatened And Displaced Scholars
The Scholar Rescue Fund (IIE-SRF) of the Institute of International Education is the only global initiative that arranges, funds, and supports fellowships for threatened and displaced scholars at partnering higher education institutions around the world. The belief that each scholar we support is a beacon of hope in our world is at the heart of IIE-SRF.
IIE-SRF has assisted 987 scholars from 60 countries in conjunction with 449 host institutions in 51 countries since 2002, building on IIE's century-long heritage of supporting students and scholars in danger.

Application Steps
Scholars from any country and from any academic field or discipline are eligible to participate. Academic qualifications and experience, the quality and/or potential of their work, and the seriousness of the risks they face are used to evaluate applicants. Scholars who: • have a Ph.D. or highest degree in their field and significant teaching and/or research experience at a university, college, or other institution of higher learning; • have an established record of published research; demonstrate superior academic accomplishment or promise; are facing or have recently fled from immediate, targeted threats to their lives and/or careers in their home countries or countries of residence will be given preference;
