Harvard University Houghton Library Visiting Fellowship Programme
The visiting fellowship program provides funds for academics at all career levels to pursue projects that call for in-depth research on the library's collections, as well as chances to benefit from staff knowledge and engage in Harvard's intellectual life. Houghton gives fellows access to other libraries at Harvard University, as well as opportunities for information sharing and research promotion through its publications, scholarly initiatives, and public events.

Application Requirements
Open to applicants from all countries. Any non-American who receives a fellowship must apply for a J-1 visa. The visa can be sponsored by Harvard University, but fellows must pay any fees associated with it. They will receive their stipend about two weeks after they arrive at Houghton Library. Curators and another library, archive, and museum professionals are welcome to apply, as well as doctoral students, post-doctoral researchers, professors, and independent scholars. Normally, fellowships are not awarded to academics who live close to the library. Every year, scholars are encouraged to apply. However, after receiving a fellowship, it must be five years before another one is given out. Students and researchers from underrepresented groups in academia, such as women, Black people, Native Americans, and others, are especially welcome to apply.
