APNI African Plant Nutrition Outreach Fellowship Award

The African Plant Nutrition Fellowship awards USD $5,000 to two innovative African scientists, extension specialists, or educators. The Fellowship supports education, training, and communication programs relevant to improving the use and efficiency of plant nutrients in African agroecosystems. Scientists, extension specialists, or educators must be working at an African NARES institution (National Agricultural Research and Extension System), African university, nonprofit organization, or in the private sector to be considered.

Application Requirements

The African Plant Nutrition Outreach Fellowship is open to scientists, extension specialists, and educators employed by African NARES institutions (National Agricultural Research and Extension System), African universities, nonprofit organizations, or the business sector. In order to hasten the implementation and uptake of improved nutrient stewardship in Africa, applicants should present innovative suggestions addressing knowledge gaps or necessary synthesis of current information. Applications must state how they plan to use the grant (such as to support travel, communication outreach, or training activities). Must demonstrate partnerships and teamwork, as these will be positively evaluated. (Female candidates are encouraged to apply.)
